It was last week Friday that Bella decided to show herself off at Grandma and Poppy's. Though not truly crawling at the time, she had figured out how to rock up to her knees, sit back down, scoot a bit and repeat this process to manuver around on the floor.
However, Bella had somehow (while on her knees), fell over and rolled onto her back. Bella wasn't too happy about being on her back, so she did roll herself over. This hadn't occurred since she was 6 months old (we thought she had forgotten). Once Bella was on her tummy, you could tell she wanted to move. She would move her arms and then her legs, but nothing working together. Somehow she figured out to move herself backwards while attempting to get up on her knees.
After some migration around the room, she backed up to a chair. With her feet pressed against the chair, she was able to sit herself up! This was a new accomplishment...which meant only one thing...
WE HAD TO LOWER HER BED!
So Jerry has lowered her bed and since then, she rolls over all the time and sits up in her bed. She plays with her dolls and trys to reach for flowers on her mobile. She is working on pulling herself up, but she has yet to have attempted this in her bed.
I'm excited to see Bella progressing as she is, yet at the same time...I'm sad. My baby is starting to show signs of no longer being a baby...it is truly amazing how much occurs within the first year (and how much more in the 2nd).
